Cameron’s farewell honours list blocked by Whitehall

Many of us have seen those mystery adverts in public places offering easy money for jobs and invite you to phone a number for details.  Usually it’s a case of someone wanting you to be their drug ‘mule’.

There is another job though where you are guaranteed to earn £300 per day just for turning up and you can leave as soon as you like without actually doing any work. Best of all it’s all perfectly legal.

What job offers such ridiculous money for doing nothing we hear you ask?  The answer is a peerage (to hold a position in the House of Lords).  Ex convict Lord Hanningfield had been enjoying the system in 2014 and maintains he did nothing wrong

Prime Ministers typically offer peerages to their chums – and no-one seems to have offered more peerages than David Cameron.  In fact he had the cheek to create a new list of people he wanted to be given peerages before his resignation.  This time however his request has been blocked by Whitehall.
