When people realise it is only the very, very rich who are benefitting then we will get real change. Very sad so many people have to suffer before we get to that point.

There’s an old quote ‘A Liberal is a Tory who’s been mugged by reality’. This blog gives quotes from life-long Tory voters, who have fallen ill and suddenly realised that the Tories aren’t interested in aiding the poor and the sick, even if they are genuine. Unfortunately, there really aren’t enough people who have taken this on board. All too often you hear from people, who blithely tell you that it can’t really be that bad, because they personally know welfare scroungers, who really are fleecing the system. These people, unfortunately, have found out the hard way. But too many others are content with the illusions peddled by the Daily Mail, the Express and the other right-wing papers.
As for the above quote about Liberals, even that’s looking a bit shop-worn now, as they’ve hopped so far on board the Neo-Lib train wreck that you really can’t tell them apart. The rant by the Lib Dems about the British public being untrustworthy was even published on Conservative Home.
