Parliament Square

On March 1st 2014, at a General Assembly on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral, Occupy London decided to form a Democracy Action Working Group (DAWG). Part of the remit of this group is organise for a mass action for Democracy.

A starting date for the mass action has been chosen: Friday October 17th. UN International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
This will be 3 year anniversary of Occupy London and Occupy the World, when 1,000 locations were Occupied calling for social and environmental justice; it also coincides, on Saturday 18th, with the TUC march.

We will be challenging the legality of stifling protests in Parliament. The requirement to gain permission from the police for our Right to Protest, the confiscation of Tents and anything that can be regarded as sleeping materials within sight of the Houses of Parliament.
